CCBR-SYNARC Worldwide made the strategic decision to move its global headquarters from a San Francisco high-rise to a campus environment in Newark, more suited to its business needs.
BCCI Construction Company was hired as general contractor during the real estate selection process and completed a detailed due diligence report of the new facility that proved valuable during lease negotiations. The design-build mechanical, electrical, cabling, security, audio/visual, plumbing and fire sprinkler subcontractors were immediately integrated into the project team to survey existing conditions, assist with pricing, and submit drawings to the building department in preparation for construction.
Built in just 12 weeks and coordinated while three other general contractors worked in the building, the project involved complete demolition and build-back of new improvements supporting an open work environment for employees with distributed private meeting spaces. The server room was upgraded with new electrical and cooling systems to accommodate a new UPS system, and a new full-size kitchen and two smaller pantries were constructed. Unique finishes included stone floors, custom wood paneling, Eurospan ceilings, and fully-rated glass office fronts to diffuse natural light from the perimeter across the large floor plate. Through our sustainable efforts onsite, over 75% of construction debris was recycled to minimize impact on the environment. The new office space meets CCBR-SYNARC’s growth and business needs.
